Botanical Gardens
In the gardens, there are waterfalls, ponds, and a
myriad species of tropical plants. In addition, monkeys are often seen
lingering around visitors eagerly waiting to be fed. Even though they
can be quite friendly, it is advisable for tourists to take the
necessary precautions when approaching them. |

Snake
Temple
Also known as the Temple of Azure Cloud, the Snake
Temple was build in 1850. This is the only temple in the world that
houses poisonous vipers. The smoke from the burning joss sticks dazes
the snakes into sluggishness. |

Wat
Chaiyamangkalaran Temple
The majestic Wat Chaiyamangkalaran temple with its
unique blend of Chinese, Thai and Burmese architectural designs was
built in the 19th century. Inside the temple lies the 3rd largest
Reclining Buddha in the world. Measuring up to a staggering length of 33
meters, the eyes and toenails of the Buddha are made of seashells.
Behind the gold foil-wrapped Reclining Buddha stand 12 idols - each
representing an animal of the Chinese calendar. The temple also houses a
tower of urns filled with ashes of deceased devotees. At the entrance,
2 colourful stone dragons greet visitors and protect the temple. |
